WHAT HAPPENS IN PSYCHODYNAMIC PSYCHOTHERAPY?
The psychotherapist adopts a listening stance and allows the person to talk
about what they want. The focus is on the person’s conscious and unconscious
assumptions about relationships and how these are played out with
the therapist during the therapy session. Thus past experiences resurface
and can be thought about in a live way. The therapist avoids imposing his
or her view and the person in turn is asked to live with the uncertainty
aroused by this.
