• feeling bad about herself, for example feeling that she is not as attractive or intelligent as others;
• becoming moody and irritable, and getting into fights with family and friends;
• seeing life as being pointless;
• suicidal feelings;
• irritability.

• poor school performance;
• poor relationships with friends and family;
• increased risk of harming themselves (even suicide);
• drug or alcohol misuse.
