in all matters relating to the reproductive system. In
practice, a number of different subjects are included, such as
gynaecological health, domestic violence, adolescent health,
maternal health and HIV/AIDS. There are important mental
health issues relevant to each of these. Many are considered
elsewhere in this manual. The broader issue of gender and
mental health is discussed. Here the focus is on
the mental health issues in relation to gynaecological morbidity
and maternal health.
